On Thursday February 24th Meeting on Main will be taking a deeper look into what constitutes the Gospel and why it is important that we understand the fullness of what that term represents. WE WILL BE CONCLUDING OUR TWO AND A HALF YEAR STUDY ON THE BOOK OF ROMANS!

We are excited to announce that Centerpointe Community Church has invited Meeting on Main Ministries to give a presentation at their church. This is our first-ever collaboration with another ministry within the Buffalo area and we are extremely excited and blessed to be presented with this opportunity!

The presentation will take a look at the wonderful truths found in Paul’s eighth chapter of his letter to the church at Rome. We will be examining the whole chapter to find the wonderful victory for all of those found in Christ Jesus. This victory oftentimes goes overlooked when dealing with difficulties in this life, and we hope this talk will intellectually and emotionally bring you closer to the Lord.

Join us as our panelists discuss any and everything about Christianity. Bring whatever question has been bothering you this season, and our panelists will do their best to address it. As a primer for questions, the discussion will open with D.Z. Limbaugh who will give a 10 minute talk about what unites all Christians. In her talk she will introduce the common ground that all Christians share even if they disagree, for example, about baptism or gifts of the Holy Spirit. Next will be a brief note (5 minutes), from D.G. Limbaugh, about why it’s ok to disagree as Christians, followed by Ryan Willert who will lay out (also in 5 minutes) the foundations of Christian knowledge.

Reforming Modern Apologetics: Christian Knowledge Without Arguments

Guest Speaker: D. G. Limbaugh, Ph.D.

ABOUT THE TOPIC:

Dr. Limbaugh will argue that the majority of apologetic actions are acts of prayer, singing in praise, forgiving wrongdoings, acts of service, and so on.

A contemporary trend today is the use of apologetics where we appeal to logical arguments when defending the faith and presenting the Gospel message. While these are important tactics, they only make up part of what is called an ‘apologetic action’.

Like plants that are disposed to grow when exposed to the sun, we are disposed to believe in God when we encounter Him or the goodness of His creation. Such encounters include being exposed to argumentation, but also include simple acts of repentance, being invited to church, as well as other actions that tug at the heart.

No Christian is exempt from the call of apologetics and answering the call is to live a truly Christian life in everything we do.

Cosmological Argument For The Existence of God

Do you know someone who is skeptical of the christian faith? Family, friends, maybe even yourself… the chances are that everyone knows someone who is skeptical. And you may have even been asked by these people in your lives “what evidence do you have to believe that God exists?”

In a world that is growing in hostility towards faith, there are good responses to these sorts of questions.

The real question is can you answer the question effectively?

On Monday, February 4th, Ryan Willert and Matt Wetter are going to be discussing one of the most powerful evidences for the existence of God, called the Kalam Cosmological argument.

While the name may sound overwhelming, they’re going to make this argument easy to understand with the hopes that everyone could walk away with the ability to share their faith more confidently in this skeptical world.
